    FAMILY

    Sibling(s): None
    Children: None
Family History: Jean Lupin was born in 1927 near Lyon, France, to a pureblood witch and a Muggle-born wizard. He showed signs of magical ability early in life, so nobody was surprised when the letter arrived to inform them that he had been accepted to the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. What did surprise them was when Jean left school before he was of age to do so, and disappeared to Germany to help fight the war against Grindelwald as his father was. His father died in the war, so when it was over Jean returned home to his mother to take care of her. Stubborn old thing that she was, though, she insisted she was fine and once he'd completed his education Jean began to travel the world a bit (though he would often come home to stay for long periods, because Jean and his mother got on far more like old friends than like a parent and child).

As 1958 drew to a close, Jean found himself in England where he met a pretty Muggle girl 13 years his junior named Abigail Taylor. The pair quickly fell in love and married. Shortly before Christmas of 1959 the couple moved into their new home in Lincolnshire and in March of 1960 they welcomed their son into the world.

    BACKGROUND

    Occupation: Student
    Affiliations: Gryffindor, and the Marauders
Thoughts on blood purity: As a half-blood, blood purity means nothing to Remus. Eventually he will actively participate in the war, fighting against Lord Voldemort.
Education: Before Hogwarts, Remus' education was seen to by his father and grandmother.
Finance: Because they've spent a lot of money travelling to try to find a cure for Remus' 'condition', his family isn't particularly well off. That being said, Remus never wants for anything, and has actually come to prefer second hand books to new ones.
Personal History: Remus' childhood was happy, normal, and utterly unremarkable until April of 1967. His mother always insisted that he stay indoors after dark, and she'd been especially adamant about it lately because of something she'd read in the newspaper, but he'd just turned seven! There wasn't anything outside that he couldn't handle, and he liked the way the night time sounded, so Remus snuck out of the house after his parents had gone to bed. He was stretched out in the grass looking up at the stars when he heard strange noises at the edge of the woods and went to investigate. This turned out to be a big mistake.

After he was bitten, Remus' life turned upside down. Jean's mother, Genevieve, left France and moved next door so she could watch over things when Remus was taken to hospitals in search of a cure. While they travelled, Jean taught Remus, but when they were home Genevieve insisted on being the boy's tutor. Remus' own mother had drawn away from him following his bite, so he found comfort in his Nana's unwavering love and lack of fear.

Everyone was surprised by Remus' letter of acceptance to Hogwarts, not because he hadn't shown magical ability, but because Albus Dumbledore was notoriously on the ball about everything, and werewolves had to register with the Ministry, so surely he knew? Jean wrote back to Dumbledore, apologising and telling him that Remus would not be able to attend. But Dumbledore showed up on their doorstep a week later with plans and promises.

When they asked Remus if he would like to go to school, his instinct was to say no. What he wanted to do was to stay home with Dad and Nana who knew his secret, still saw him as a person, still loved him, and weren't afraid to touch him. But the twinkle in Dumbledore's eye as he promised he could come back home if he really didn't like it won Remus over in the end, and he decided to give Hogwarts a try.

    APPEARANCE

    Height: 5'10"
    Weight: 135 lbs
    Eyes: Light brown
    Hair: Brown
Face & Complexion: When he returned to Hogwarts for his fourth year, Remus was sporting some new scars; two great scratch marks crossing his face entirely, and a third on his chin like something with very large claws had gotten the best of him. Few have had the nerve to ask where they came from, and those who have weren't given any sort of real answer. These scars are the only really remarkable thing about Remus' appearance.
Build: While he does eat enough, the werewolf metabolism keeps Remus downright skinny. Also due to being a werewolf, he's stronger than he looks, and he doesn't often let that show.
Defining Marks: Scars, mostly on his chest and stomach as well as the bite mark on his left thigh and the couple of scratches across his face, and one that not even his friends know about, which he keeps hidden.
Dress Style: Neat and simple, half to keep from drawing attention to himself and half because of his family's financial status.
Possessions always on this person: His wand, a quill, and a bit of chocolate.
Manner of Speech: Intelligent and quiet, but often nervous. Unless the only people around are the other Marauders in which case he can get quite sarcastic and mischievous.
Manner of Movement: Because of the drastic changes his body makes every month, Remus is very aware of the mechanics of movement. He could make a limp look graceful, but he makes a conscious effort to be a little clumsy sometimes, since that's what's normal.

    ROMANTIC

    Marital Status: Single. Quite single.
Sexual Preference: He doesn't think it's really anybody's business, thank you. (He's bisexual, though generally disinterested.)
Turn ons: Intelligence, and a good sense of humour. Nice eyes and good hands help, too.
    Turn offs: Stupidity, tactlessness, prejudice.
Past Relationships: None to speak of. He's not entirely inexperienced, but he's never been in anything he would call a relationship.

    GRYFFINDOR PISCES

While not the bravest of Gryffindors, the Gryffindor Pisces still exhibits a quiet courage. They aren't afraid to face painful truths, if there really is no way of escaping them. These Gryffindors are deeply compassionate, and full of emotional strength, often becoming the unofficial counsellors in the common room who everybody runs to for advice. They are romantic to an extreme; their minds are stuffed full of fairy tales, myths, and legends. They often spend more time daydreaming than doing their homework, to the vexation of their professors. Still, their daydreams do sometimes produce uncanny insights.
